13. ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE - HOW KITO BLOCKS DISTRACTIONS
KITO uses Android's Accessibility Service for one purpose only: to power the optional app-blocking feature that helps you stay focused during a study session. While a focus session is active, the service detects which app is currently in the foreground; if it is an app you chose to block, KITO shows a full-screen reminder over it. The service accesses only the package name of the foreground app, and is configured so that it cannot retrieve window content. It does not and cannot read your screen contents, your messages, anything you type, your passwords, or any other personal or sensitive information, and it does not log or record your activity. Information obtained through the Accessibility Service is processed on your device in real time and is never collected, stored, or transmitted off your device. Blocking runs only while you have started a focus session and only for the apps you selected, and you can turn the permission off at any time in your device's Settings.
